Getting Connected in Crawley

Updated: Feb 7, 2023

On Monday 30th January 2023 the SEDSConnective workshop/demonstration day took place in Crawley, welcoming the Worshipful Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Jilly Hart. Thank you so much to Gatwick Airport Community Trust and Crawley Council for funding this much needed support.

So who was there and what was going on? SEDSConnective advisers Alexander Technique Teacher Natalie Gibellini, and lymphatic reflexologist Karen Windsor each held a session. Karen is an expert in lipoedema and lymphoedema and her workshop group significantly benefited from all her knowledge. Natalie's workshops and advice is mindful of living with pain and fatique, and helping us manage these.

Not all participants were members or even have a diagnosis, yet many symptoms and issues were discussed and shared! We were delighted many came from as far as Kent and London.

So many connections were made!

Some of the action with Karen's massage gun!

Jane Green MBE Chair and founder was delighted with the turnout and how some of our issues, which have been ignored for so long, are now being heard and valued.

We want to thank our wonderful advisers hosting the talks and demonstrations, and our voluntary team members, plus outside volunteers supporting us, and for all our participants.

The highlights of action from the day

One participant said,

‘ Thanks for an interesting and very professional workshop, I really enjoyed it’ , while another said said,

’It was the best opportunity, we laughed, cried and some asked when is the next one?'

An important point about the weight of our head and sitting correctly from Natalie.
